PIONEERS

MAN HAIL FEAR

Disproportionate perfectionism is a time thief. After a sound discovery phase that lasted several years and many more years of collecting material, it has now become even more of a concept-based project than it already was.
After all the time that has passed, serious publications are due to appear in 2025. And boy, this could become a fun ride for a small audience! – „Zhan kara nai, zhan tora nai!“
Spaceship interior soundmap – SFX library
The soundmap – a basic „bring-to-life“ sfx kit. This was a concept developed to save game devs time by covering most scifi interior scenarios with one single audio library.
Features:
- Loops:
All loops were seamless and had different lengths for better sound textures in the mix. - Stereo:
Some sounds were also supplied with a stereo-panned version. This simplified their use in certain game scenes, such as a cutscene in a lift or first-person movement. These audio files were given the extension „_stereo“. - Split Stereo:
As a special feature, the collection contained a few SFX whose stereo channels were split into individual sounds. When placed properly, this provided a richer room sound. These files had the endings „-left“, „-middle“ and „-right“. - Layer:
Audio files with „-layer“ could be combined for the optimal mood in the mix.
The sounds had a dry room character, making them great for sound zones with simulated room characteristics (such as reverb). Some loops had different volumes to achieve certain dynamics. All files were clearly catalogued and sorted by characteristics for quick processing.
This deep dive into video game audio is an exciting field that has never really let go of me. In fact, almost 100 GB of raw material has been created since then.
„HARDBOHL“ radio show

Professionalism and chaos went all the way to the end together – it was a good school and a lot of fun.
With the fictitious radio program of the extravagant host “John Bohl”, 3 shows lasting several hours were produced for an exclusive audience.
This project allowed me to get to know a completely new and exciting field. In addition to the technical realization and my debut in voice direction, I was also able to dive deeper into editorial and creative aspects. I am very grateful for this time – Thank you Bohl!
